Delete your Verbola account

This page explains how to delete your Verbola: IELTS & TOEFL Prep account and the study data attached to it, what we remove, what we keep, and how long it takes. It applies to the Verbola mobile app and to verbola.io.

How to delete your account

In the Verbola app

The fastest way, and the one we recommend. Deletion starts the moment you confirm, with no waiting on us.

  1. Open the Verbola app and go to the Settings tab.

  2. Tap your profile card at the top of the screen.

  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete profile.

  4. Read the confirmation and tap I understand, delete.

By request, if you removed the app

Uninstalled Verbola, or cannot sign in? Ask us and we will delete the account for you. No reinstall needed.

  1. Email contact@verbola.io from the address on your account, or use the support form and pick the "Privacy or data request" topic.

  2. Write "Account deletion request" and the email address of the account. We verify the request before acting on it.

  3. We schedule the deletion within one business day and confirm by email. The same 14-day grace period applies.

Timeline

What happens after you confirm

Deletion is not instant on purpose. A 14-day grace period protects you from losing months of study data to a mistaken tap.

  1. Right away

    Your account is disabled and you are signed out on every device. Nobody can sign in to it, and it stops appearing anywhere in the product.

  2. For the next 14 days

    The account is held, not erased. Changed your mind? Signing in again within 14 days cancels the deletion automatically and restores everything.

  3. After 14 days

    Your account and study data are permanently erased from our systems. This is irreversible: we cannot restore an account after this point.

What is deleted, and what is kept

Permanently deleted

Erased from our systems after the 14-day grace period, with no way to recover it:

  • Your account: name, email address, password, and any Google or Apple sign-in link
  • Your profile: username, phone number and avatar selection
  • Your exam profile: exam type, exam date, target score and weak skills
  • Study plans, daily tasks and task completion history
  • Focus sessions, notes and mistake logs
  • Mock test scores and your score history
  • Writing submissions, speaking recordings, and the AI feedback generated from them
  • Reading, listening, speaking and vocabulary practice history
  • XP, streaks and challenge progress
  • Notification preferences, push notification tokens and reminder history
  • All sign-in sessions and saved devices

Kept, and why

Only what the law requires or what was never ours to delete. None of it identifies you inside Verbola:

Anonymized purchase records
Subscription events we receive from the app stores are stripped of any link to you and kept only as anonymous records, because we are legally required to retain accounting and tax records.
Records held by Apple and Google
Your purchase history lives in your App Store or Google Play account, not ours. Deleting your Verbola account does not remove it; manage it in your store account.
Support messages you sent us
If you emailed support, that email thread stays in our support inbox so we have a record of the request. Ask us to delete it and we will.

Cancel your subscription separately

Verbola Premium is billed by Apple or Google, not by us, so deleting your account does not cancel it and does not issue a refund. Cancel first in your App Store subscription settings or Google Play subscription settings, then delete your account. See Pricing for how billing works.
